Sony has pushed ahead of the Web TV pack with a preliminary deal with Viacom to carry channels such as Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon on its upcoming Internet TV service. Sony plans to deliver the service, which faces competition from Google and Intel, among others, via its PlayStation consoles and connected TVs. The Viacom deal is not yet finalized; Sony is also said to be in early discussions with CBS, Disney and Time Warner.
