Starbucks is doubling distribution of its upscale Reserve coffee line by expanding to 500 additional stores in the next year, the company said in a press release. The expansion comes as the artisanal coffee movement has taken off among consumers, and Starbucks is touting the products in the line as "rare and exotic small batch single-origin" coffees. "I think people are getting more and more used to choosing a coffee by the cup. Once they get used to waiting just a little bit longer, we were really finding that those customers appreciate a more complex cup of coffee," said spokesman Andrew Linnemann.
