Thirty-two percent of small businesses are using mobile advertising in some form to promote themselves, up from 28% in 2012, according to BIA/Kelsey. And 40% are taking credit cards via card readers used with smartphones or tablets. "Mobile-payments platforms are gaining significant traction with SMBs, with 40% of those surveyed stating they now accept payments at the point-of-sale with a mobile credit card reader attached to a smartphone or tablet," said BIA/Kelsey's Steve Marshall. "Another 16% plan to add this capability within the next 12 months."
