About half of the applications on Apple's App Store, the Android-based Google Play store and the Windows Phone Store combined are considered "dead" apps, having never been updated and receiving fewer than 10 reviews, according to a report from StarDust, a mobile-testing service. StarDust said its findings apply to 60% of the apps in the App Store, 41% of those in Google Play and 69% in Windows Phone.
