Andrew Briscoe, president and CEO of the Sugar Association, spoke out against a recent sugar study out of the University of Utah that claimed a link between sugar consumption and shortened lifespan in mice. The study, which fed mice fructose and glucose monosaccharides, was labeled a "sugar study," a term that Briscoe says is "inaccurate and misleading" because in true sugar, glucose and fructose are bonded together. "Only sugar is sugar," Briscoe said.
