Representatives of the technology sector are lobbying Congress to liberalize certain aspects of intellectual property law to better support the nature and purpose of IT innovation. In testimony before a House subcommittee on IP and the Internet, witnesses including Van Lindberg, vice president of intellectual property at Rackspace, said that in the modern digital environment, traditional measures of protecting intellectual property have become anachronistic and are more likely to be used to stifle innovation than to support it.
