Texas schools have adopted graduation rules that offer students two paths to graduation -- distinguished and foundation. The first option requires four years of math and places graduates in a category for automatic admission to Texas colleges. The second option reduces math requirements to three years. Under both sequences, students will be required to choose an endorsement -- science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM); business and industry; public services; arts and humanities; and multidisciplinary studies -- that will be used to guide course decisions.
