Global hacking and cyberespionage, along with the rapid depreciation of legacy network security systems, are driving more government agencies to look into cloud-based platforms for managing their Internet connections. Verizon recently reached a deal with the Australian Federal Police designed to reduce gateway vulnerabilities, while in the U.S., providers such as Verizon, AT&T and Sprint have been certified to provide managed gateway services to government agencies under the General Services Administration's Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Services program.
