Enterprises have been slow to implement database-as-a-service, but that trend will soon change given the increasing need to analyze data and do it in an efficient and cheap manner, David Linthicum writes. Growth in adoption will also be spurred by new technology players offering niche services and better security capabilities. "Database as a service addresses the needs of the business faster, and with fewer dollars. Security problems are easy to solve, even beyond the capabilities of on-premises systems that IT currently favors," Linthicum writes.
