The Lincoln Children's Zoo in Nebraska launched its new summer teen camp, called Adventures Camp: Global Youth Expedition, in which teens traveled to Costa Rica and worked at the Sea Turtle Conservancy, guarding nests and gathering data on the newly hatched turtles. "It's a unique camp," said Evan Killeen, the zoo's general manager. "We are really fortunate to be one of the only zoos in the country to offer these types of camps. ... It was not a vacation. It was an immersion. A science and cultural experience."
