Burns & McDonnell provided the architectural and engineering services for the $40.1 million NOvA Far Detector Building at the University of Minnesota site in Ash River Falls, Minn. The 350-foot-long concrete structure includes a roof with a "63-foot clear span, pre-stressed concrete beam support system to accommodate movable access platforms, facilitating detector construction and maintenance," writes Brad Allen.
