The supervisors of Imperial County, Calif., signed off on seven resolutions in support of the California Ethanol and Power Project, which aims to produce ethanol from sugarcane and sweet sorghum. The project involves building an ethanol plant capable of yielding 66 million gallons annually, as well as biomethane and electricity. The project is expected to create up to 800 construction-related jobs and about 400 full-time jobs once the facility is complete, said Chief Operating Officer David Rubenstein.
