The Assistive Technology Expo in Topeka, Kan., showcased new technology that helps people with disabilities stay active and healthy. Featured were a pill box-like monitoring device that helps people comply with medication regimens, new lift technology and all-terrain wheelchairs. "Some of the things just allow us to have fun, and some of them allow us to be gainfully employed," said attendee Kevin Olson. "These things open windows, and that gives a person a sense of self worth."
