Though few firms question the value of Big Data, many remain unable to navigate the road to implementation and until someone finds the path, the questions will persist. Instead of jumping right into Big Data, firms must be careful to start small, form a plan and have plenty of checkpoints. Despite the risks and unclear path, banks will need Big Data to survive in an increasingly ruthless marketplace as it may give them an edge over their competition.
