A California company is on its way to fielding the first dirigible aircraft since the Graf Zeppelin made its final voyage in 1940 following a successful test flight of a prototype of its Aeroscraft airship. Aeros Corp. is developing the helium-filled craft with $35 million from the U.S. government. When finished, the airship is expected to be more than 400 feet long with the ability to lift up to 66 tons of cargo.
