Chevron and the Brazilian government have reached a $41.6 million settlement on a November 2011 offshore oil spill in Brazil's Frade field involving the company and Transocean. "The settlement represents an amicable resolution to the civil suit brought against us," said Rafael Jaen Williamson, corporate affairs director at Chevron. Transocean won't need to pay anything for the incident, the deal states.
