A naturalization ceremony held Tuesday at Romig Middle School in Anchorage, Alaska, was a living civics lesson for some 800 students, who witnessed the swearing in of 10 immigrants, including their own eighth-grade U.S. history teacher Anaely Leon-Hernandez, a Venezuela native. The event coincided with the 226th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. "This has to be the most relevant lesson on the Constitution I've ever seen," district chief academic officer Mike Graham said.
