Some high-school students from Fort Collins, Colo., are spending their Saturdays learning about deer biology, research techniques and statistics. They also are going out into the field with Colorado State University researchers and students. "[T]he main thing I think they (high-school students) get out of this, this youngest tier, is to see that science is not necessarily people in white coats, and it's definitely not necessarily something you do by yourself in a lab," professor Tom Hobbs said.
