Derivatives dealers are turning attention to mitigating the effect of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision's initial-margin requirements for uncleared swaps. "Our fundamental concerns over the initial-margin requirements haven't really changed," ISDA CEO Robert Pickel said. "People are pragmatic and understand this is the path regulation will take on margin requirements. You have to adjust, and that's why we've undertaken efforts to develop a standard [initial-margin] model."
