America's ethanol producers will churn out an estimated 890,000 barrels per day of the biofuel on average in 2014, down slightly from projections made in August, according to the September issue of the Energy Information Administration's Short-Term Energy Outlook. Output will average 860,000 barrels per day this quarter, rising to 880,000 barrels per day in the fourth quarter. Last year's drought cut output to 820,000 barrels per day starting in the second half of 2012 through March 2013, compared with 900,000 barrels per day in the first half of 2012, the EIA said.
