Survival rates among early-stage endometrial cancer patients who received external beam radiation therapy were not significantly different from those for women who received vaginal radium brachytherapy, Norwegian researchers found. However, women younger than 60 in the external radiation group had a 36% greater death rate compared with patients who got brachytherapy alone. The findings appear in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
