After seeing his grandmother struggle with a TV remote, 17-year-old Charalampos Ioannou of Greece developed a prototype for a metallic glove with sensor technology that allows the user to distinguish between heavy work such as wielding a hammer and more delicate movements such as holding an egg. Ioannou is one of 15 finalists headed to the Google Science Fair international competition, whose winner will be announced this month.
