Children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes were three to nearly five times as likely as those without the disease to develop multiple sclerosis, according to a study in Diabetes Care. Patients with an immigrant background, males with thyroid-specific antibodies and those born in June and August also appeared to have higher odds of multiple sclerosis, researchers said.
