Officials in higher education have a unique opportunity -- and responsibility -- to help military veterans transition from the battlefield to the workplace, asserts Karen Gross, president of Southern Vermont College. In this blog post, she writes that at her own college, work is underway to revamp the orientation process for such students. Gross suggests recruiting military personnel to assist in orientation, listing their military rank on their information packets and making it a priority for veterans to get an ID card.
