India's second ethanol-supply tender this year received a strong response, with 80 sugar mills offering more than 350 million gallons. The first tender, which was for 277.4 million gallons, drew offers totaling just 145.3 million gallons. "The second bid was, therefore, meant to bridge the deficit of the first tender and procure additional quantity to start with 10% blending in some states," said Abinash Verma, director general of the Indian Sugar Mills Association.
