Next week's Intel Developer Forum will see the chipmaker talking up its initiatives to address mobile devices, where chips based on ARM Holdings designs currently dominate. Executives will be putting "clear emphasis [within Intel] on mobile computing leadership" when the conference kicks off Tuesday, the IDF website states. Intel is pinning hopes on the low-power Atom "Bay Trail" processors, which are expected to find their way into new smartphones and tablet computers.
