Three Democratic lawmakers wrote to eight banks -- Citigroup, Wells Fargo, U.S. Bancorp, PNC Financial Services, SunTrust, TCF Bank, Huntington Bancshares and Commerce Bancshares -- last week asking for information on deals they have with colleges that encourage students to use certain financial products. "Students can get hurt when they are steered into financial products that carry high fees," the letter said.
