To find the healthiest energy bars, hospital dietitian Tara Jones says, first read the ingredients list and look for natural foods, such as nuts, seeds, fruits and honey. She says she does not favor granola-based bars because they are too sweet and are lower in fiber and protein, and she recommends people make their own energy bars at home using natural ingredients found in the bulk-food aisle at the store.
