CDC researchers surveyed parents of more than 1,000 children diagnosed with neurologic or neurodevelopmental conditions, and found that only 50% reported getting their children the flu vaccine each year. Although most parents said they depend on their doctors to keep them informed about vaccines, many doctors fail to identify children at greater risk of flu, including those with neurologic disorders.
The findings were published in the agency's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.
