McDonald's on Thursday promised to stop marketing sodas as part of its Happy Meals and said it is adding fruit, salad or vegetables as alternatives to fries in its value meals. The changes will roll out in McDonald's top 20 markets, representing 85% of its sales, by 2020. "We think we can influence the purchase of fruits and veggies. We have a leadership role, and we can be part of a solution," said CEO Don Thompson.
