A study published in JAMA Dermatology found the popularity of mobile health applications provides a great opportunity to advance the practice and delivery of dermatological care to patients. After categorizing 229 dermatology-related apps based on their uses, researchers found that general dermatology reference tools make up the largest category, followed by self-surveillance or diagnosis apps. The study also cited Ultraviolet ~ UV Index as the most reviewed app.
