The opportunities for women in television in the writing room, behind the camera and in front of the camera are on the rise, thanks in large part to shows like "Orange is the New Black," "Girls," and "The Good Wife," according to research coming out of Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film at San Diego State University. In the 2012-13 broadcast TV season, women accounted for 28% of the writers, editors, creators, directors, producers and directors of photography on these shows.
