Promotional discounts helped draw more renters to Redbox kiosks in July and August, but those deals held down revenue and profits in the past quarter, Outerwall reported. The company, formerly known as Coinstar, forecast its third-quarter profit will be 82 cents to 94 cents per share, compared with an earlier projection of $1.36 to $1.51 a share. Revenue will be $569 million to $589 million, down from an earlier estimate of $630 million.
