Maternal post-traumatic stress disorder was linked to an increase in traumatic events among 3- to 5-year-olds compared with both PTSD and depression, depression alone, or neither disorder, U.S. researchers reported in the journal JAMA Pediatrics. Increased severity of PTSD raised psychological aggression as well as traumatic experiences in children, while severity of depressive symptoms predicted neglect and physical abuse.
