Production capacity and pricing put Bangladesh ahead of Vietnam and Cambodia with apparel retailers ranking countries on the likelihood of increased production in the future, despite recent disasters that highlighted factory safety issues, according to a study from McKinsey & Co. China tops the list of garment-producing countries, with Bangladesh and Italy tying for second place, but China's higher-and-still-rising salaries have 80% of retailers planning to shift some of their sourcing in the next five years, the survey found.
