Sanofi agreed to settle a lawsuit for $40 million in which it was accused of deceiving investors about the safety of its weight-loss pill rimonabant, which was found to be linked to suicidal thoughts and depression by an FDA advisory committee. The all-cash settlement, which requires U.S. District Judge George Daniels' approval, was disclosed Thursday in a court filing. The treatment is known by the trade names Zimulti and Acomplia.
