The Securities and Exchange Commission will meet today to question executives from exchange operators about technical glitches such as the three-hour outage at Nasdaq on Aug. 22. Representatives of Nasdaq OMX, NYSE Euronext and the Chicago Stock Exchange are expected to attend. The goal of the meeting is to "identify underlying problems with our current market infrastructure and promote dialogue on industry proposals that may fix the proximate causes of recent market disruptions," SEC member Michael Piwowar said.
