Small and midsize businesses looking to beef up their cybersecurity readiness should work with the tools they already have before spending money on potentially expensive new solutions, writes Tony Bradley. He says many SMBs fail to exploit the most basic security measures, such as maintaining a strong password and authorization policy and keeping their networks up-to-date with the latest patches. Meanwhile, those businesses that need a little more can pick and choose from a host of free tools or employ relatively inexpensive open-source solutions.
