The growth in popularity of social media among students has led school districts to consider where to draw the line in disciplining students for their online behavior -- even if it does not take place on school grounds. Some schools have taken measures to discipline students for comments they make online, but the ACLU and others contend that a U.S. Supreme Court standard allowing students to freely express themselves in school still stands.
