Starbucks is asking patrons not to bring firearms into its stores or outdoor areas, though it stopped short of an outright ban that employees would have to enforce. The company explains the policy in full-page ads in major newspapers today. Reaction on social media has ranged from praise to satire to calls to boycott the coffee brewer. "There are going to be people on both sides who will be disappointed or angry, but we're making a decision we think is in the best interests of our customers, employees and the company," said CEO Howard Schultz.
