Overweight participants who worked out for half an hour daily attained a mean weight loss of nearly 8 pounds at three months, compared with 6 pounds in those who spent an hour exercising per day, according to a small study in the Scandinavian Journal of Public Health. Researchers also found that participants who exercised the least reported feeling more motivated about working out and adopting a healthy lifestyle, while those who had longer workouts felt exhausted and demotivated in following healthy habits.
