Produce suppliers are gearing up to feed a growing demand for fresh-cut fruits and vegetables from consumers, retailers and institutional foodservice operations. We are really seeing increases with our fresh-cut products in convenience stores -- especially the single-serving items," said Gene Loffredo, president of Loffredo Fresh Produce, which has hired 50 workers at its fresh-cut facility in Des Moines, Iowa.
