Testing the urine of children for sodium retention may help determine those who have a greater hypertension risk, according to a small study presented at the American Heart Association meeting. Researchers tested the urine samples of 19 10- to 19-year-olds and found that eight of them, or 44%, were sodium retainers, including seven with hypertension.
