USA Network is in "franchise-building mode," for "Modern Family," which on Sept. 24 will begin airing five nights a week, according to Alexandra Shapiro, USA's executive vice president of marketing and digital. USA, which is best known for its slate of crime series, will promote the comedy series via social media, as well as pop-up photo booths in major markets and a contest to observe a table read of the series in Los Angeles.
