Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., is requesting information from the Education and Treasury departments about why they haven't taken public steps to criticize or penalize Sallie Mae for allegedly violating federal rules and government contracts. Warren wrote in a letter Thursday that Sallie Mae had received "little more than a slap on the wrist." Warren added that she was "particularly concerned about this approach because of the enormous benefits the government has provided Sallie Mae."
