In a recent speech, integrated-marketing expert Don Schultz said that social media was "probably killing brands" by diluting marketers' outreach efforts in a sea of online chatter. Schultz is right to be skeptical, writes Ginny Soskey, but savvy marketers can still find a way to stand out and to engage their customers. "Social networks aren't a scary thing that will destroy your brand -- when used in the right way, it can catapult your business to success," Soskey writes.
