Research presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes meeting found female type 1 diabetes patients ages 15-29 were 8% more likely to miss A1C targets, while those ages 30 and older were 6% more likely to miss A1C goals compared with their male counterparts. However, blood glucose control was not significantly different in male and female patients younger than 15.
