The 2013 Congress of Delegates adopted resolutions designed to strengthen support for primary care by medical schools, including standardizing the definition of primary care residencies and providing more accurate numbers of those who enter primary care fields. Delegates also referred to the board a resolution tying graduate medical education reimbursement and medical school accreditation to a percentage of graduates choosing primary care.
