ABC's owned-and-operated TV stations would fetch $5 billion to $6 billion, and the TV network $4 billion to $6 billion, Wells Fargo analyst Marci Ryvicker is estimating. However, Ryvicker thinks it unlikely that Walt Disney Co. would sell the holdings, given the stations' potential to produce $1.5 billion in retransmission-consent and reverse-compensation fees. "Disney's ABC network would be at a disadvantage in terms of both advertising and reverse comp discussions should it remain a standalone asset," Ryvicker says.
