AT&T and GE have partnered on a global machine-to-machine network that will link AT&T's cloud-based wireless network with GE's industrial products, which will allow the company to track and operate engines, lights and other machines. The agreement will embed AT&T's SIMs, or subscriber identity modules, in GE's products, which will enable the companies to develop software that monitors and controls the GE machinery. "This is a hugely significant win for AT&T," said Morgan Mullooly, an analyst at Analysys Mason, a research firm.
